Scholarship Amount

The benefits of the CM Merit Scholarship Selection Competition Examination for students from classes 9th to 12th include:

• An annual scholarship of Rs 12,000/-
• Full scholarship amount for students studying under the non-residential system or in addition to the state government’s residential school.
• Students enrolled in Akanksha and studying in a residential school will receive 50% of the scholarship amount.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the CM Scholarship examination, students must meet the following criteria:

• Enrolled and regularly studying in government, government-aided, model, project, minority, or unaided schools.
• Passed class 7th with a minimum of 55 percent marks (For SC/ST will be granted a 5% exemption)
• No compulsion of annual income of the guardian.
• 30 percent of seats reserved for girl students.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The examination will be conducted in two sections. Each section will be 90 minutes long and will consist of objective (MCQ) questions.

• Section 1: Mental Ability Test: This section will have a total of 90 questions, including questions related to reasoning, English proficiency, and Hindi proficiency. It will assess students’ intellectual/logical abilities through questions on topics such as analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figures, etc. The questions will be based on the syllabus of Classes 07 and 08.
• Section 2: Aptitude Test: This section will include questions on science, social science, and mathematics subjects (30 questions per subject). The questions will be based on the syllabus of Classes 7 and 8.

In order to be considered for scholarship selection, students must score a minimum of 60% overall and obtain at least 40% in each section (35% for SC/ST students). Candidates scoring below these thresholds will not be considered for selection.

Jharkhand CM Merit Scholarship Selection Process

Under this scheme, the following criteria and processes are followed:

• Every year, a total of 5000 students are selected.
• The selection is based on the scholarship selection competition examination.
• Each district of Jharkhand can have a maximum of 400 selected students.
