Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for KALIA Scholarship 2023-24, a candidate must
- A permanent resident of Odisha State.
- All category (SC/ ST/ OBC/ SEBC/ General) students are eligible to apply this scholarship.
- The applicant must be the child of the beneficiary of KALIA Yojna.
- The children of all the eligible beneficiaries under the KALIA scheme under the two different components, namely Support to Cultivators for Cultivation and Livelihood Support to Landless Agricultural Households are eligible for the scholarship.
- The parent of the student must be eligible under KALIA during verification at the Chief District Agriculture Officer (CDAO) level.
- Outside students (students of Odisha but studying outside Odisha) are also required to apply online for this scholarship.
- The student must have obtained admission on merit basis in a Government Institution/Private Institution having AISHE code (All India Survey on Higher Education) of the State and in Premier Govt. Institution (both inside and outside the State).
- No private institution outside the state shall be allowed to participate in KALIA scholarship.
- Students should not receive any other scholarship by the state or central government.
Subjects & Courses eligible for the KALIA Scholarship
- The Professional or Technical graduation courses like M.B.B.S, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, B.Pharma, B.Sc. (Nursing), PBBSc, B.Sc (Agriculture), BVSc & AH, B.Sc (Horticulture), B.Sc. (Forestry), B.Sc (Fisheries Science), B.Sc. (Community Science), B.Tech (Agril. Engg), B.Tech/B.E.
- Diploma courses like D. Pharma, DMLT, DMRT, Ophthalmic Assistance/Surgical OPTH Assistance, GNM, ANM, Psychiatric Nursing, Polytechnic & Agri Polytechnic.
- Different trades in Government ITI’s.
Scholarship Amount
- Scholarship amount for the students taking admission under technical/professional courses in premier Govt. institutes (both inside and outside the State) like NIT, IIT, IIM, AIIMS, ICAR( IARI IVRI,CIFE, NDRI ), IISER, NISER etc. shall be as per actual recommendations of the respective institutes or Maximum of Rs.1.00 Lakh whichever is less.
- the Mess/ hostel charges of Rs.1200/- per month for UG, PG, Ph.D & premier Govt. institutes students and Rs.1000/- per month for Diploma/Polytechnic/ITI students for 10 months shall be provided for Government and Pvt. Institutions.
- Government Institution students will have their tuition fees, annual fees, one-time fees, hostel charges, and any other non-refundable fees paid to colleges/universities/institutions, excluding caution money or any other refundable amount, disbursed to their respective student accounts.
- Scholarship amount for the students studying in Private Institutes of the State shall be released to the student as per the course fee structure enclosed in Annexure-1.
- Scholarship funds for Ph.D. students in various technical/professional disciplines at Government Institutions within the State will be disbursed based on the current fee structure of the respective institutes. If a student receives any fellowship or assistance from alternative sources, the corresponding amount will be subtracted from the institute’s recommended course fees, and the remaining balance will be provided as KALIA scholarship.
