What is Reliance Foundation Scholarship ?

Reliance has been providing scholarships to meritorious students for over 25 years, inspired by Reliance Founder-Chairman Shri Dhirubhai Ambani’s belief that the best way to ensure the nation’s progress is to invest in its youth. Over the years, Reliance Foundation scholarship programmes have impacted the lives of 13,000 youth across India.

In 2022-2023, Reliance Foundation will support up to 5,000 meritorious undergraduate students from underprivileged sections of society studying any stream of their choice through the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships, and 100 of India’s brightest postgraduate students studying eligible subjects in new technologies through the Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships.

Reliance Foundation Scholarships aim to nurture and empower meritorious students, enabling them to pursue higher education, emerge as young professionals, and drive India’s growth.

Reliance Foundation Scholarship Amount

Beneficiaries will be awarded for scholarship amount to pay their academic debts like tuition fees, participation in seminars, conferences, etc. professional development, purchase of IT equipment and books, etc.

Eligibility Criteria for Reliance Foundation Scholarship

Reliance Scholarship for UG-Undergraduate Students

• Students must be enrolled in first-year full-time undergraduate degree programme in any stream from a recognised Indian institute/university.
• Must have passed class 12th with a minimum of 60% marks
• The annual household income should be less than INR 15 Lakhs (preference will be given to those students whose family income is less than INR 2,50,000)
• This scholarship is applicable for resident of Indian citizen only.

Reliance Scholarship for PG-Postgraduate Scholarships

• Students who are enrolled in the first-year full-time postgraduate degree programme in following streams can only apply for this scholarship:
  • Computer Science 
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Mathematics and Computing
  • Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering 
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Renewable and New Energy
  • Material Sciences & Engineering 
  • Life Sciences 
• Must have secured 500 to 1,000 in the GATE examination OR must have scored 7.5 or above in their undergraduate CGPA (or % normalized to CGPA) [If students have not attempted GATE]
• This scholarship is applicable for resident of Indian citizen only.

The applicants are required to arrange the following documents at the time of online Scholarship application –

• Passport-sized photograph
• Address Proof
• Academic Records (Marksheet of 10th and 12th Class Board Examination)
• Bonafide Student Certificate of current college/institution of enrollment, or Student ID Card
• Family Income Proof

For Postgraduate Scholarship

The applicants are required to arrange the following documents at the time of application –

  • Marksheet of GATE Entrance Examination (if applicable)

• A new page will open on the computer screen, choose “click here to complete the eligibility questionnaire”

For Undergraduate

• Support meritorious students from all corners of the country with an undergraduate college education
• For first year students studying any stream of their choice
• Awarded on a merit-cum-means basis to meritorious students
• Up to 5,000 undergraduate scholars will be selected
• The total amount of scholarship available over the duration of the degree programme, will be up to Rs/INR 2 Lakhs
• Scholarship will go beyond financial support, with students automatically gaining networking opportunities through a strong alumni network

For Postgraduate

• Nurturing India’s future leaders who can think big, think green, think digital for the benefit of society.
• The Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships will identify and select the best and brightest students in India through a rigorous and competitive selection process.
• We welcome applicants from all socio-economic backgrounds and scholarships will be granted on the basis of merit.
• Up to 100 postgraduate scholars will be selected.
• The total amount of scholarship available over the duration of the degree programme, will be up to Rs/INR 6 Lakhs.
• 80% of the funds will be granted in advance at the start of each academic year, to use for tuition and direct academic expenses. The remaining 20% of the funds will be granted upon request to support professional development, including indirect academic and personal development expenses, including conference related expenses. 
• Scholars will also benefit from additional engagement and development activities (including the chance to attend talks and workshops with leading global experts, opportunities to apply for mentoring/internships, volunteering opportunities, a strong alumni network and more), and will join a vibrant community of scholars that will be at the forefront of creating and building a new India.

Selection Procedure of Reliance Scholarship

Selection Process For UG

The students will have to go through the following selection procedure in order to be selected for the UG courses scholarship:-

• All applicants are to answer the online aptitude test.
• The test duration will be 60 mins and will contain 60 Multiple Choice Questions.
• Components of the test include verbal ability, analytical and logical ability and numerical ability.
• First Level Selection
  • Applications will be evaluated using a combination of aptitude test scores, and academic and personal information.
• Announcement of Scholars – Up to 5,000 scholars.
• All candidates will be evaluated on the basis of merit cum means.
• Selection of Scholars will be announced in March 2023.

Selection Process For PG

The students will have to go through the following selection procedure in order to be selected for the PG courses:-

• All applicants to answer the online aptitude test
• The test duration will be 60 mins and will contain 60 Multiple Choice Questions
• Components of the test include verbal ability, analytical and logical ability, and numerical ability
• Evaluation Stage- Applications will be evaluated by an expert panel of industry experts, academicians, and leaders in the field
• Interview Stage- Interview preparation webinars will be conducted for all candidates
• Interviews will be held virtually by the expert panel
• Up to 100 scholars will be selected
• All candidates will be evaluated on the basis of merit
