West Bengal Post Matric Scholarship 2023-24: Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal (WB) invites online application for Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC Category students. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official portal- oasis.gov.in.

The program provides financial support to SC/ST/OBC students in West Bengal who are pursuing education from Class 11 up to the Ph.D. level. Its objective is to motivate individuals from SC/ST/OBC category to enroll their children in schools, ultimately leading to a reduction in the rate of school dropouts.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must have West Bengal domicile.
• They should be enrolled in an institution recognized by a state or central government educational board/council/university.
• A minimum of 50% marks in the most recent qualifying examination is required.
• Total annual family income must not exceed INR 2 Lakh from any source.
• Students should belong to the SC/ ST/ OBC communities.

The scholarship benefits offered vary across different levels and are categorized based on whether the recipient is a day scholar or resides in the hostel. The breakdown of these benefits is provided below:

For General course students in Classes 11 and 12:

Day Scholars:

• Admission fee & tuition fee: INR 7,700
• Maintenance Allowance: INR 2,500

Hostellers:

• Career Assessment Test
• Admission fee & tuition fee: INR 7,700
• Maintenance Allowance: INR 4,200

For Technical and Vocational course students in Classes 11 and 12:

Day Scholars:

• Admission fee & tuition fee: INR 11,000
• Maintenance Allowance: INR 2,500

Hostellers:

• Admission fee & tuition fee: INR 11,000
• Maintenance Allowance: INR 4,200

For Undergraduate & Postgraduate Students:

Day Scholars:

• Admission fee & tuition fee: INR 3,300
• Maintenance Allowance: INR 3,300

Hostellers:

• Admission fee & tuition fee: INR 3,300
• Maintenance Allowance: INR 6,300

For M.Phil. and PhD Students:

Day Scholars:

Important Instructions & Guidelines

1. Your own Caste Certificate Number has to be put in the designated place in the application form.
2. Please put your own and correct Aadhaar number in the designated place in the application format along with Date of Birth and Gender as per Aadhaar. The “name in Caste Certificate” must match with “name in Aadhaar”.
3. Select the course and institution carefully in case of Post Matric Scholarships, any mismatch may result in rejection of application and any wrong claim is liable to be recovered and legal action for falsification of records may be taken.
4. Active Mobile No which is your own or in which you have access, need to be put in the application format. You have to preserve it till your course is completed.
5. Only one application from one candidate is entertained, multiple applications may lead to rejection of application.
6. Your Bank Account must be Aadhaar seeded and DBT enabled.
7. Scholarship amount will be credited to your own last Aadhaar seeded Bank account.
8. “Name in Banglar Siksha Portal” should match with “Name in Aadhaar”. Otherwise Contact your Institution.

How to apply online application for West Bengal Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC at oasis.gov.in?

To Register and Apply the scholarship for Post Matric, eligible students need to follow the below given steps.

• STEP 1 :- Click Students Registration Link at the portal  oasis.gov.in if You are a New Students. If you Register earlier than click on Registered Students login.
• STEP 2 :- Choose district where your institution is located. if you are studying outside of West Bengal Choose district of your permanent address
• STEP 3 :- Verification of Caste Certificate.
• STEP 4 :- Enter your Gender and Date of Birth and Aadhar Number and Confirm Aadhar Number.
• STEP 5 :- Fill All details of Form. (Here Registration Process Completed).
• STEP 6 :- Click on Login Button and login you ID.
• STEP 7 :- Fill Further Details.
• STEP 8 :- Bank Information.
• STEP 9 :- Give OTP and Verify and lock.
• STEP 10:- Print Application.
