Eligibility Criteria for Aikyashree Scholarship Programs

The eligibility requirements vary for different types of Aikyashree scholarships, and students need to apply based on their educational level.

For the West Bengal Pre-matric Scholarship:

• Students must be domiciled in West Bengal.
• They should be enrolled in either Class 9 or 10.
• Students belonging to minority communities i.e. Buddhist, Christian,Jain, Muslim, Parsee & Sikh
• The annual family income should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh.

Regarding the West Bengal Post-matric Scholarship:

• Applicants must be residents of West Bengal.
• Students belonging to minority communities i.e. Buddhist, Christian,Jain, Muslim,Parsee & Sikh
• Eligible students include those in Class 11, 12, Graduation, or Post Graduation.
• Must have secured at least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/ Graduation examination.
• The annual family income should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh.

For the Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship, West Bengal:

• Students must be domiciled in West Bengal.
• Applicants must be female.
• Candidates should have completed Class 12th from any recognized board.
• They should have aspirations to study Engineering, Medicine, or Basic Science at a reputable institution in West Bengal.

Regarding the Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM):

• Applicants must be residents of West Bengal.
• Students should be in Class 11 or 12, or pursuing graduation in Engineering, Medical, Technical/Professional courses (if not in general UG/PG courses).
• For students at the higher secondary level or pursuing a diploma, a minimum of 75% marks in Class 10th is required.
• For undergraduates, a minimum of 75% marks in Class 12th is required.
• The annual family income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.
• Scholarships are awarded based on both merit and means.
• Students pursuing M.Phil. and Doctoral courses from state-aided institutions are also eligible.

Regarding the Hindi Scholarship Scheme, West Bengal:

• Applicants must be residents of West Bengal.
• They should be from non-Hindi speaking states.
• Students must have completed one of the following degrees: Madhyamik, higher secondary, graduation, PG, or equivalent.
• A minimum of 60% marks in the previous qualifying exam, in the first attempt, with Hindi as a subject is required.

Regarding Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme, West Bengal:

• Yearly Income of the applicant’s family from all sources not exceeding Rs. 80,000/-, and,
• 75% marks in aggregate in the Madhyamik or the H.S. Exam, for applying respectively for the H.S.-level or the UG-level scholarships,
• For 55% marks in the Honours subject in graduation for the PG-level scholarships.

Required Documents

Steps to apply online application for Aikyashree Scholarship

Follow the outlined steps below to successfully navigate through the Aikyashree application process:

Step 1 – Student Registration

1. Go to the official WBMDFC portal or directly access the Aikyashree Scholarship portal.
2. Choose “New Registration.”
3. Select your Institute’s District.
4. Complete the registration form by providing your Name, District, Guardian’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email ID, and Bank Account Number.
5. Click “Submit” to proceed.

Step 2 – Scheme Eligibility

1. Fill in the scheme eligibility details on the webpage, including your current institution, its location, course or class name, last exam passed, board name, year of passing the last exam, percentage of marks obtained, annual family income, and email ID.
2. Review the details carefully and click “Submit & Proceed.”

Step 3 – Registration Completion

1. Upon completing the previous step, a temporary User ID will be generated.
2. Check your email or inbox for the password, which will be sent to you.

Step 4 – Student Login

1. Use the provided User ID and Password to log in through the Student Log-In window.
2. Enter the following details:

• Basic Information
• Academic Information
• Bank Account Information

1. For added security, change the password (this is mandatory) and then click “Submit.”

Step 5 – Final Submission

1. Fill in the Basic Information section.
2. Click “Submit and Proceed.”
3. Fill in the Academic Information section.
4. Click “Submit and Proceed.”
5. Complete the Bank Account Information and verify its accuracy.
6. Thoroughly review all the provided details by clicking the “Pre-View” tab.
7. Click the “Final Submit” tab.

Step 6 – Verification and Printing

1. Carefully verify all the details entered in the previous step.
2. Once you’re certain about the accuracy of the information, print a copy of the application form.
3. Submit the application form to your respective institute along with a photocopy of the bank passbook containing your bank account number and IFSC Code.

Renewal Process for Aikyashree Scholarship:

To renew your WBMDFC scholarship, follow these steps:

1. Access the official website that covers all scholarship categories (Pre-Matric, Post Matric, MCM, TSP, SVMCM scholarships).
2. Choose the “Renewal Application” option, which will open a new window.
3. Pick your district and confirm by clicking OK in the displayed dialogue box.
4. Log in using your application ID, date of birth, district, and captcha code.
5. Proceed by clicking on the Login button.
6. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and submit it.
7. You’ll encounter two options: “Renew Application” and “Withdraw Application.” Click on “Renew Application.”
8. Fill in the requested details in the registration form, including your name, date of birth, email ID, parent’s name, gender, and religion.
9. Click “Submit and Next” to move forward.
10. Provide your previous and current academic information.
11. Continue by clicking “Submit and Next.”
12. Review and verify your bank details, including IFSC code, bank name, branch name, bank account number, and account holder name as per the passbook.
13. Confirm by checking the box stating ‘I confirm that the bank account details are accurate to the best of my knowledge and belief.’
14. Proceed by clicking “Submit and Next.”
15. Upload the required documents, including the institute verification certificate, along with the form.
16. Complete the application by clicking the “Submit and Next” tab.
17. Before final submission, thoroughly review the provided details.
18. Click on the “Submit and Lock Renewal Application” tab.
19. A popup will appear to confirm the accuracy of the details. If everything is correct, click “OK.”
20. Obtain a printout of the renewal application by clicking on “Print Renewal Application.”

Aikyashree Scholarship Application Status Tracking Procedure:

To check the status of your Aikyashree 2023 application, follow these steps:

1. Go to the WBMDFC’s official website.
2. Navigate to the “Track Application” section in the menu.
3. Provide your district, application ID, and date of birth.
4. Enter the displayed captcha code accurately.
5. Complete the process by clicking the “Submit” button.

Aikyashree Scholarship List with Details

The Aikyashree Scholarship Portal, managed by the West Bengal Minorities’ Development and Finance Corporation, offers five government scholarship schemes to students. These schemes include:

Scholarship Name	Details
West Bengal Pre-matric Scholarship	This scholarship program is open to students in Class 9 and Class 10. Selected students can receive monthly scholarship amounts ranging from Rs. 150 to Rs. 750. Additionally, chosen students are eligible for an extra Ad hoc Reward of up to Rs. 1000 per year.
West Bengal Post-matric Scholarship	This scholarship is available to students in Class 11, Class 12, Graduation, and Post-graduation. It provides financial assistance to SC, ST, and OBC students pursuing education at post-matric or post-secondary levels. The scholarship amounts range from Rs. 160 to Rs. 1200 per month.
Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship, West Bengal	Exclusively for female students, this scholarship is for those who have completed their Class 12 studies under any West Bengal board. It supports female students pursuing undergraduate degrees in Basic Science, Engineering, or Medicine at institutes within West Bengal. Recipients of this scholarship will receive Rs. 3000 per month, along with an annual book grant of Rs. 2000.
Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM)	This scholarship is based on both merit and means. Students ranging from Class 11 to those pursuing a PhD can apply. Minority students can receive financial aid of up to Rs. 8000 per month, based on their academic achievements and financial circumstances.
Hindi Scholarship Scheme, West Bengal	Geared towards supporting students studying Hindi in non-Hindi speaking states like West Bengal, this scholarship is available for those in higher secondary, undergraduate, postgraduate, and research-level courses (M.Phil., PhD, M.Lit., etc.). Monthly scholarship amounts range from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000 for selected students.

Selection Process

The Aikyashree scholarship for 2024 can be obtained by students falling into two categories:

1. New Applicants
2. Candidates Seeking Scholarship Renewal

Regarding New Scholarship applications, eligibility will be determined solely on the basis of merit, subject to the funding allocated by the State Government.

For those applying for the Renewal Scholarship, consideration will be given only to students who have achieved a minimum of 50% marks in their previous examination.

WBMDFC was established in 1996 as per West Bengal Act XVIII of 1995, i.e. The West Bengal Minorities’ Development and Finance Corporation Act, 1995.The Corporation has taken up various schemes for Economic Welfare, Scholarships, vocational training, mass awareness and career counseling which are running successfully for persons belonging to the notified religious minority Communities i.e., Muslim/Christian/Buddhist/Sikh/Jain and Parsee for their economic upliftment.
